We searched for a photographer for quite some time and Benjamin and Elise were the first ones we really loved the look of. After much deliberation we decided to invest in good wedding photography and we are so glad we did.

Benjamin and Elise are incredibly professional, organised and great at communicating. We knew we could absolutely trust that they would be on time, find great photo spots and photograph the important people/moments on our wedding day.

Our photos reflect us. Benjamin and Elise have an absolutely incredible way of capturing personalities and making anything look good - in a natural way! Our photos document the parts of our wedding that we missed. We love how many photos there are of our guests. A lot of our guests came up to us afterwards and said how they barely noticed the photographers.

A colleague of mine looked at our photos and said that she felt like she was there! Which is a testament to the comprehensive job Benjamin and Elise did in documenting our wedding.

If you want gorgeous, natural and not so posed photos these photographers may just may be the ones for you! Not only are Benjamin and Elise amazingly talented they are also genuinely great people

Benjamin and Elise were amazing! Leading up to the wedding they were so easy to communicate with. Benjamin and Elise were amazing to work with, both prior to our wedding and on our special day! From day one they were both very helpful, organised and excited for our day ahead. Benjamin and Elise have something very special, as they work beautifully together. On our wedding day they photographed with such professionalism, excitement and calmness. And, finally, when we received our photos after our wedding we were absolutely in love with what they had produced. The final photographs are spectacular. There is a serene quality to them that truly captures the emotions of the day. We also ordered and have received a photo book, which Ben and Elise meticulously crafted, allowing us to have our own input also. It is a wonderful memento of our day and really is a fabulous way to bring together our favourite photos to be able to share with friends and family.

Both not knowing a lot about the whole thing, Ben and Elise calmed us down from the start, with their very organised yet relaxed style.

When it came to nailing down the exacts, they were great, being understanding of our choices yet confident enough to throw in more options and carefully explaining what will and won’t work given the situation.

On the day, it all went fine. Getting the photo’s done was fun, rather than a chore and at the gig we didn’t notice them. Lots of guests mentioned they seemed really nice.

End end product is awesome.

Bejamin and Elise are so lucky to have found what they were born to do at such a young age, as are all the recipients of their beautiful photos!  Their enthusiasm and commitment can only come from having a true passion for what they do, which was certainly evident on our wedding day.  They would do anything to get the perfect shot.

In all our communication leading up to the wedding, they were always very quick to respond and provide helpful advice - even when away photographing a wedding in New York! 

On the day, Ben and Elise worked seamlessly together, picking up on all the little details.  They find beauty in the most unexpected things, contrasting textures, patterns and light.  They put us and our bridal party at ease, which was a difficult task!

The end result, received within 4 weeks, is Ben and Elise’s signature light and bright photos which tells a story and captures little moments when we didn’t even realise anyone was watching.  We absolutely love our photos and have enjoyed reliving our wedding day again and again through their magical
photography.

Ben and Elise photographed our wedding over a year ago now.. It feels like yesterday! They were so brilliant! We adore our photos and feel so proud to show them off! Ben and Elise were such a pleasure to work with! They were super thorough which made us feel really relaxed and they were very easy going and lovely. I find it a little uncomfortable in front of the camera but the totally put me at ease, they were so encouraging that I just had a really good time and never felt uncomfortable.

I would 100% recommend them. They captured our special day so perfectly!

Benjamin & Elise are awesome! Such lovely people to deal with and very talented photographers, exactly what you need for your wedding! After seeing the beautiful photos of my brothers wedding from Benjamin and Elise, we knew we had to have them - even though it meant cancelling with another photographer and loosing a non-refundable deposit.

We met with Ben and Elise twice before the wedding, and found them to be very organised. They were relaxed and easy to speak to , while still being knowledgeable and passionate about their craft.

B+E did a location scouting before the day of the wedding, and visited the venue where we held our ceremony/reception. This was great as they already knew where the best light was, and where the best places were for portraits etc.

On the day, B+E arrived on time. They were very calm and collected as always. We had a plan of how the day would go, which ended up going out the window, but B+E just rolled with it. It was a super hot day and we were thankful that they had scouted some amazing locations that were also shady. They made my husband, wedding party and I all feel very at ease. It was clear how passionate they were about their work throughout the day.

As for the final result…We have a CD of around 400 high res photographs and we are in love with every single image!! Everyone comments on how B+E managed the capture the essence of the day. I am having trouble picking which ones to print as they are all so beautiful!!  We would recommend B+E without hesitation to future brides and grooms.

Ben & Elise photographed our wedding in December 2013. I have always felt that the photos are one of the most important parts of wedding to organise. My husband and I were not disappointed. We loved our photos, Ben & Elise really captured our day perfectly. Their was a softness and natural quality to the photos that we loved. They are both genuinely lovely people which made us feel at ease, which is also really important. they are such a beautiful and tallented couple! Check out their blog their work really does speak for itself, it’s nice that its not the same same as per the wedding scene.

Ben and Elise were a joy to have photograph our wedding.  It was so encouraging how excited they were for the plans we made around our photograph time and wedding setting.  They scouted out some wonderful places that helped make our first meet on the wedding day unique and special.

Ben and Elise were professional, affordable and flexible allowing us to make plans that worked for us.  They were helpful in answering the many questions we had around how photography should look on the day and gave us tips that helped us organise better than we would have without it.  They continued to be positive and encouraging no matter what happened in the lead up to the wedding and we so enjoyed how excited they were when they got a good shot or the weather was creating great light for us.

Ben and Elise had good photography leadership yet also managed to fade into the background so that we could feel relaxed and ourselves infront of the camera.  We are so happy with the quality of our photos and wish them all the best continuing to beautifully and creatively document weddings.

Having our Big Day on our 11th anniversary, we were excited – but there were some nerves… Elise and Ben were so positive, encouraging and adorable – we had so much fun watching them have fun taking our photos, that we forgot about our nerves!

Our Big Day was the day after the huge freak storm that blew over the country. The weather was cold and very windy – and we’re in Wellington, so VERY windy! This was a real challenge, and was a test of suitable wet weather location knowledge. We all embraced the crazy weather as much as practically possible, got some really fun moments, as well as stunning portraits. One of the favourites is the moment where my umbrella was suddenly caught by the wind and turned inside out – a super classic Wellington wedding!

The romanticism of Ben and Elise’s photography is balanced by a modern freshness. Their work is dreamy and beautiful and timeless. Your memories and your photos are what you have to look back on and share with others. We wanted our photos to capture our memories, so we could be in the moment and trust our photographers would collect them for us to look back on forever. We were looking for a photographer to push past the ‘traditional’ wedding photos, and show our personalities. We got not one, but two photographers who could do that! Elise and Ben are an amazingly talented couple who complement each other in life and in their work. Already in hot demand so early in their career, our advice would be to book them now. You will be forever happy that you did.

We had Benjamin and Elise recommended to us by my sister-in law. As soon as we started looking on-line at their work my husband and I knew they were the ones for us. What we both loved is that they were not the standard -“stand there and we’ll snap pics” types. We LOVED the way they factored in the background and lighting and really thought about how they would do the shot.

We met Benjamin and Elise a few months before the wedding and did an engagement shoot. It was a really fun morning and we got so many gorgeous photo’s. They we were relaxed and easy to work with, while also giving us prompts and directions when needed.

Ben and Elise came up to New Plymouth a couple of days before the wedding and found some stunning gardens to use. They were also happy to do some at a location we requested.
On the day they were great to work with. I was running much later than planned so they took the initiative to take photo’s of the reception set up.

At the church they managed to be in all the right places without being intrusive. Guests commented that they appreciated being able to enjoy the ceremony without having to peer around the photographers backs!

We are delighted with the 300 plus photo’s on disc we received. They are so stunning and we love the way they thought about everything. Members of the bridal party commented that they really liked the way each shot was planned out and that Ben and Elise thought about everything from harsh sunlight to sheep droppings and made sure these were avoided! We liked the way they did posed shots as well as the way they acted on opportunity and took a photo. We have some great candid ones of the guests and bridal party laughing and smiling.

I would throughly recommend Benjamin and Elise as wedding photographers- they did a spectacular job and we are very happy.

When my wife Clare and i were planning our wedding there was only one thing that was certain, and that was that we loved the style,feel and mood of the photography as seen on Benjamin and Elise’s blog and that we wanted them to shoot our special day.

They went to the trouble of traveling up to us the day before the wedding and spending a wee bit of time getting to know us and discussing our particular wants/needs which made us feel way more comfortable on the day!

We were stoked to have them photograph our wedding and we felt comfortable to be ourselves in their company so the photography came out very natural and beautiful.

We are more than happy with the final product with its organic feel but also professional quality and composition. We would very highly recommend these guys!

Ben and Elise are just wonderful! Two of the most talented and beautifully humble people I’ve met!

I stumbled on their blog and was immediately taken by their gorgeous style. I am an Art Director and so I wanted something more than what I was seeing ‘wedding photographers’ shoot. I was after a relaxed and real reflection of who we were as a couple and the fun, colourful and whimsical day we wanted. Ben and Elise were wonderful to chat to about it, and understood exactly what we were after.

We had an engagement shoot a few weeks before the wedding, and we both had so much fun! Ben and Elise had great ideas, great locations, and were both so lovely and easy to work with that I got even more excited about our wedding day.

On the day, both Ben and Elise had cameras, and they managed to coordinate a massive wedding party (I had 8 bridesmaids, Matt had 8 groomsmen, and our “best dog” Ollie) it was awesome! Even though the weather changed on us, they both had everything under control, and I trusted them completely.

I love our photos, and everyone I have showed them to have gushed over them. Their photography is simply stunning, they manage to capture the whole day and they were a dream to work with.

I’m so glad I stumbled on two gems when searching for a photographer. Thank you both so much!

I’m not even sure how I ended up on Benjamin and Elise’s blog but not long after I arrived I was completely in love with their photography style.

We were based in Auckland but were visiting Wellington for a week and so I had my fingers crossed they would have time to take some photos of me and my boyfriend Ivan and our baby girl. They were so pleasant via email and agreed to scout some locations prior to our shoot.

The conditions on the day were unfortunately extremely difficult…(extra crazy wellington wind, quite cold, and they had a car but we had no car seat for baby, so we were confined to our initial location). Nonetheless, Ivan and I were completely at ease with Benjamin and Elise. They were confident and professional but sweet and friendly all at the same time. Any nerves or concerns we had were completely dissipated once they started shooting away.

They completely made the most of the situation and produced some gorgeous shots (with a very quick turnaround time!) that we will cherish forever.

It wasn’t ACTUALLY an engagement shoot, but that night Ivan proposed to me in our little rental cottage by the sea. So those photos will always be remembered as our engagement photos on a windy day in beautiful Wellington.

I would definitely recommend Benjamin and Elise to anyone who wants some thoughtful, beautiful, natural and professional photos taken.

It was a real pleasure to have Benjamin and Elise to do our wedding photography.  Before the big day, we all got together to discuss the detail of what we wanted.  By the time the meeting was over, we were more than happy to leave the details up to them.

Prior to the ceremony Benjamin and Elise “followed” us to the hairdresser, make up artist and at home firstly with the groom and best man, followed by a visit to the Maid of Honours home where she and the bride were.  They depicted the different stages of getting ready in a relaxed manner.

During and after the ceremony Benjamin and Elise quietly took photos of the wedding party and guests.  They rounded people up as they were preparing to leave the afternoon tea to have photos with the wedding party.  Our favourite photo is one that they shot in the entrance of the church - the bride & groom were surrounded by bubbles with HUGE smiles on their faces.

As the day was wildly wet, they escorted the wedding party to the covered terraces at Parliament where they proceeded to shoot some more amazing photos.
Then onto the reception where there were pictures that captured the joyous occasion and ensured that all our guests - both family and friends - were included.
Finally, the delivery of the photos.  Benjamin and Elise presented us with a natural cardboard CD case bound in twine with 250+ photos that they had carefully edited to ensure we had nothing but the best.  This way we can print off what photos we want, put all the photos into our digital photoframe and give copies to all our friends and family as a keepsake of a truly memorable day.

Eight months prior to our wedding, Benjamin and Elise had also done a very casual session with us in the Botanic Gardens.  They also captured our engagement.  This is what prompted us to employ them as our wedding photographers.
