WeddingWise Milestones - WeddingWise Articles
We don’t like to toot our own horn very often, but WeddingWise has recently passed a few big milestones which we’re really proud of and we wanted to share.

Over 4,000 wedding vendor reviews

Since 2010 we’ve provided the facility for brides, grooms, friends, and family members who attend a wedding to write reviews for the vendors they had experience with. As of today, we have over 4,000 reviews published on the site, with more being submitted every day. We’re proud to be the only comprehensive NZ wedding directory with honest, independent customer reviews. When you choose a vendor from the WeddingWise directory you can be confident you’re making smart choices trusted by thousands of others that have come before you. And don’t forget to submit your own reviews to share your experience too. We’d also like to give thanks to all the members of WeddingWise who have put in the extra effort to engage their customers to write reviews for their businesses. You’re all setting great…

Marriage Equality Act: What it Means for Marriage in New Zealand - WeddingWise Articles
After the Marriages (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Act 2013 passed its final reading in Parliament with 77 votes to 44, same-sex marriages will become legal in New Zealand from 19 August 2013. I’m proud that as a country we are finally recognising the rights of same-sex couples to wed, and I look forward to being able to perform same-sex ceremonies in my roles as marriage celebrant. Whatever your stance or opinion on the marriage bill might be (and you are welcome to your own thoughts on the matter), you may be wondering how it will affect you as a couple or as a vendor. This article should cover the basics of the new laws and give you some resources to find more information.

What the Marriages Act 2013 Means for Couples

When the new law comes into affect in August, all couples (regardless of gender or sexual orientation) will be able to legally marry.

Why doesn’t the Marriages Act 2013 take affect until August?

The August 19 start-date gives the Births, Deaths and…

Please welcome our new blogger: Steff Green

Steff Green • February 24, 2013
Hi, I’m Steff, the new blogmistress behind the WeddingWise blog. I’m a freelance writer, blogger and illustrator based in Auckland, and I’m also a registered New Zealand wedding celebrant. As a celebrant, it’s my job to facilitate the ceremony, from helping the couple write their service right through to pronouncing them married. I specialise in alternative and quirky weddings, everything from small, intimate garden tea parties to themed weddings – recently I’ve officiated at a Victorian Gothic and a Lord of the Rings ceremony.

What do I love about weddings?

I love a good party – who doesn’t? But a wedding is more than a party – it’s a celebration of love and commitment and everything that’s good in life. A wedding is also a window into a couple’s life –every time I perform a ceremony, I feel truly blessed to be sharing such an intimate moment with my couples. Being able to stand up on the altar while two people make such a powerful commitment to each other –…

Benek Lisefski • October 09, 2011
We’ve past a big milestone today. We now have 1,000 ratings and reviews published by real kiwi brides and grooms from all across the country! We’d like to give a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who has taken the time to write a review on WeddingWise. Your contribution and shared experience is what helps other brides and grooms make smart wedding planning decisions. You can read some of the more recent reviews at the bottom of this page. Please go ahead and write a review of your own if you’ve been recently married and have some experiences to share.

Wedding Vendors

We’d also like to thank the many wedding vendors listed on the site who have actively encouraged your wedding clients to write reviews for you. As you have realised, ratings and reviews give your potential customers confidence that they are making a safe choice when choosing you. Our stats show that vendors with ratings get much more attention than those who do not, and they convert more profile views into…
