Brides and Grooms, we know you want to make smart and confident decisions about who you trust to make your wedding day go off without a hitch. Our user review system lets you read opinions from other brides and grooms so you know who to contact and who to avoid, but we’ve decided to take that a step further.We’re happy to announce our new WeddingWise VIP Club!Wedding vendors marked with a VIP tag are the cream of the crop. They’ve been most often voted as excellent by savvy brides and grooms. It takes at least 10 reviews and an average overall rating of 4.5 or higher to earn VIP status, so you can be confident that these vendors are great at what they do and have many satisfied customers to back that up.Let’s all give a big congrats to Kumeu Valley Estate and Julie Lassen Marriage Celebrant for being our first VIPs. At the time of writing they have 17 and 10 glowing reviews respectively. Other vendors take note - this is how you do it!

Just a quick note to announce that we’ve made our wedding vendor rating and review system even better!Previously our rating scale was 0-5. We’ve changed this to 1-5, and replaced the zero rating option with a new option for N/A (not applicable). Before this change, if you left ratings as a guest or family member at a wedding and there were some of the criteria you didn’t know about (e.g. “value for money”) you had to select an average (and possibly ill-informed) score. Now, if you don’t know how to rate an item you can select N/A instead. N/A ratings are not applied to the overall averages.Because of this change we’ve had to bump up a few zero ratings to a score of one (the new minimum score). No other ratings have been altered.In other news, WeddingWise has moved to a new web host. We’re now on a much faster and more reliable server. We are proud to announce that WeddingWise.co.nz is officially launched and out of beta! With about 2000 New Zealand wedding vendors listed we are the most comprehensive and useful directory of wedding services in NZ. We will continue to grow our directory over the coming months but we’ll also start focusing on adding extra resources and features to make your wedding planning even easier.

WeddingWise Shop

In addition to our easily searchable and browseable wedding vendor directory we’ve also opened up our WeddingWise Shop, which highlights some great books and other products that we think you’ll find useful. We’ll be expanding the shop as we grow and if you sell a product online that you think our user would like please don’t hesitate to enquire about getting it into our shop.

Three weeks ago we hit 1,000 listings in our New Zealand wedding vendor directory. This week I’m happy to announce we’ve now got over 1,500!We realised a huge percentage of our listings were for Auckland businesses so we’ve been focusing on hunting out unlisted vendors in other areas, starting with Wellington and Christchurch, which have each gotten a bunch of new listings over the past few weeks. Smaller town and regions will get more attention as well.Our other big area of growth has been the New Zealand Wedding Bands & DJs section which now has over 150 listings. We’ve started with listing all of the bands and DJs signed up with our friends at Find A Band and Find A DJ (who all have Premium listings thanks to a special deal with Find A Band). Those are nearly done and extra Premium media features like photo galleries and MP3 audio sample playlists will be added to those pages in the coming weeks. We will then be working hard to find every other NZ band or DJ who…

We recently achieved a big milestone by surpassing 1,000 New Zealand wedding vendor listings in our directory. We haven’t been able to confirm this, but we’re guessing that number of listings makes WeddingWise the most comprehensive directory of wedding vendors in NZ already, and we’re just getting started!We reckon we’ve got at least another 1,000 to go before we’re satisfied, and our goal is to get that done by the end of the year.I’d like to thank Jenny and Lucy who have been working hard behind the scenes to find and input all of these great wedding vendors.
