I had the most amazing experience with the Astral Bridal crew on 18 June 2016.. Liz and her team were amazing with a capital A. My consultant was Natasha and she was a true gem she had the loveliest nature and was just so enthusiastic about her job. I tried on about 8? dresses in total and the first one I tried on was also the last one i tried on and is still my favourite re fit etc.  Although I have decided to not go with a dress from Astra I have bought my wedding shoes from there and am very happy with them too.  I will have undergarments etc to buy for the wedding so may well be back to see Liz and the team when I need to do that.  These girls know the true meaning of the word service and are a dream to deal with. My mum and a friend had also come with me to help me out and they were made to feel very welcome. It was lovely to interact with the other brides too and a few laughs were had by all.  I would recommend any one to go and see the Central Auckland Astra team as they are fantastic.

I had tried on a few dresses on TradeMe before coming to Astra. Those experiences had made me incredibly anxious about wedding dresses as I did not think they suited me at all! A friend recommended I go to Astra Bridal - I made an appointment last Saturday and within an hour I had found my dress! When I went in, I had almost no idea what I wanted. My consultant, Tammy, pulled 10 or so dresses of different styles, shapes and colours for me to try. The first dress she pulled was absolutely perfect - but in the end it was beaten by another dress in a completely different style which I, to my surprise, loved even more!

Tammy was incredibly meticulous in helping me with the dresses. She made sure to pin the dresses on me in a careful way so that I could imagine how they would look on the day. She gave me lots of advice about veils and shoes to help me think about the ‘big picture’. She was incredibly patient and did not mind that I took a long time making a decision (in the end, I went back for two more appointments, even though I already knew I had found the right dress for me—just to make sure!). The dresses she chose were all beautiful - the best mermaid dress, the best princess dress, the best A-line dress. I had a great selection to try on and she made it very easy for me to narrow down my choices. She talked me through all the dresses and highlighted their special features.

I am very grateful to the team at Astra Bridal and would definitely recommend it to my friends - there is a $50 consultation fee but it is only paid once (no matter how many consultation sessions you have), and it is applied against the price of your dress. There is a wealth of experience and good taste in the team, so all you have to do is relax and try on all the gowns you want

Wow the team at Astra Bridal - Auckland are amazing! I flew up to Auckland with my mum and we went to a few shops to try on dresses. Astra Bridal was the first shop we went to and the service was incredible!
Well the service started before we arrived on the phone when I made the booking they were the only ones to ask me questions to get an idea of who I am and my style of wedding so when I walked in the door it was like they knew me and I felt so at home.
When we arrived in store Vera who looked after me is just so lovely! She asked me questions I was able to tell her which areas of my body I love and hate and what i thought I wanted. She helped me pick out many dresses and she even picked one out for me to try based on what I had said - note this was not what I had in my mind but was willing to try on. So I tried this dress on first followed by all the others and would you believe it the dress I have picked simply stunning is that very first one that i tried on! Thank you Vera
I can not praise the ladies enough at Astra Bridal from start to finish the service was simple the best and no other store made us feel so special. We were not rushed and they involved my mum as well which meant so much to us both. If you want that amazing I am a bride feeling with fun and laughter you should go here to find your dress! Astra Bridal Takapuna were amazing.  I spent a day visiting various wedding dress stores with my mum and became underwhelmed with the dresses that I had seen and tried on.  I gave Astra Bridal a call and as soon as I spoke to them I knew that it would be a good experience.  They asked me some questions on the phone to get a gauge of what I was looking for and time frame etc which no other store offered.

I turned up for my appointment with Liz and she ran over about the dresses and colours that would suit me - who knew there were different types of white!!  After selecting some dresses that I thought would look nice = and tried them on i still hadn’t found the one.  Liz then picked out some that she thought would look good and suit my body shape. She selected roughly 3-4 dresses and they were all amazing! Dresses I would have never picked my self - so it would amazing having her experience and expertise help with the decision!

Everyone that I dealt with at Astra Bridal were extremely helpful and professional I would recommend them to anyone that is getting married!

Liz and the ladies at Astra Bridal Auckland City make choosing a wedding dress and absolute delight. They are very clued up and experienced on what suits what body types and take the time to listen to what you are after and help you find the perfect dress. Both my sister and I purchased dresses from Astra bridal and we had such a fun time in store trying on the dresses with the help of Liz and her team. There is a huge range of high quality gowns and accessories,  I would strongly recommend Astra bridal to any bride who is wanting a great experience and the perfect dress. I have already recommended the store to many of my friends soon to get married, and I know they are looking forward to shopping at Astra bridal in the Auckland CBD!

I will never forget Saturday 4th July, this is the day that I meet with Mala and she helped me find my dream wedding dress. I went in with my sister and Mum. My fiancee and I have recently been in car accident and I am recovering from concussion, their understanding with this and support was amazing. They completely understood that I needed to take things slow and have breaks - Mala was always checking how I was feeling and if I needed a rest.
I am not a size 0, far from it, when looking through their dress range I thought I could only try on my actual size. Mala corrected and said she could ‘work her magic’. I was a bit weary. but I must hand it to her, to fit a size 18 into a size 12 with some ‘magic pin’s - she must be a fairy god mother!!!!
From the beginning she had an idea of the style I wanted. We tried on 5 dresses. In the end it was between 2. We went back and tried on both in full outfit - veil, necklace and bouquet. The attention to detail and letting me see the dresses in full outfits really helped my decision. When I put on the Christina Rossi dress for the 2nd time, I knew it was the dress and I cried, then we all cried! It was a magical moment to know that I had found my dress and that everyone was there to be a part of that special moment. The wonderful team then went on to help my Mum find her very important - mother of bride outfit! Again, Mala gave my Mum some advice and showed her how the dress would look once it was altered. My mum now has a one of a kind silk outfit that goes perfectly with my dress and the bridesmaids outfits too.
We then went and picked out my shoes, veil and a matching belt.
I had the most wonderful experience and will forever cherish Mala and the team.

I had an amazing consult with Malay. She is incredible and made my day (it started off horribly at another bridal shop, so much so I almost gave up in frustration of finding my dress) her care and attention and positive attitude was the best way to turn our day around.
Within the first 10 minutes I realized that I was in the right hands and that the $50 consult fee for a personal assistance was worth it. Your care and attention teamed with your experience to help guide me to my perfect dress was a wonderful experience. My dream dress was the first one I tried on and I learned a lot about what suits my body shape. You were patient with me every step of the consult and involved my 2 bridesmaid in the whole process.
I’m so glad I made the appointment and that I found my dream wedding dress at Astra!
Your store environment was relaxed and a pleasure to be in, there was no stress at trying on every dress and Mala was great at helping me into the smaller dresses with lots of laughs through the whole process.
You have a wonderful team of ladies that truly love what they do and Mala looked after me and guided me through the whole process. I paid the deposit for my dream dress straight away as I didn’t want to look anywhere else.
I would recommend the team at Astra to any bride looking for her dream dress.

My first point of contact with Astra was attending one of their seminars on how to choose the right gown for your body shape.
A very informative and fun evening led by the wonderful Wayne- what a character he was, certainly an asset to Astra!

I decided at this point that i wanted to book in for a consultation as i was mesmerized by a number of the Maggie Sotteros gowns.
Of course I did my research online first using the Astra website which is fantastic! i spent hours looking at the pictures online and then contacted Wayne on email to bring in a range of Maggie gowns i was interested in.

Wayne and Sarah made my first consultation quite an experience, many laughs were had.
I loved the fact that Wayne was honest and upfront without coming across as rude.
They really helped me in the decision making process.

My follow up appointment to try my gown on when it came in was equally as good!

I would highly recommend any bride to think about paying Astra a visit as they are complete professionals who make the whole process easy and fun!

Wayne has been amazing! Made everything so easy and he is honest and open about his recommendations.  Doesnt try to sell you anything you dont need, like other shops i have come across.  I purchased my dress, both mine and my bridesmaids earrings and my bracelet, along with other extras from their store.  I also dealt with some of the other staff who were also lovely and very helpful.  I would 100% recommend them.

Wonderful, Wonderful service and I absolutely love my dress. At first it wasn’t the dress I thought I wanted but once I tried it on I knew it had to be mine and so now it is woohoo! From the beginning to end the service and hospitality I received from everyone at Astra Bridal has been second to none and I can’t speak highly enough of everyone. Even alterations are so easy and so close woohoo! I don’t usually go to the city so being able to have my alterations done closer to home and around my schedule has been excellent and to make it even better everyone goes out of their way to accommodate your needs which again is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. THANK YOU ASTRA BRIDAL so much!!!

Wayne and team are just fantastic! His knoweledge is very much appreciated and he knows his stuff! Could not have picked my dress without him. Will be recommending Astra Bridal Symonds Street to all other brides looking for the perfect dress and perfect service.

I just love Astra Bridal, Wayne dyer from the Symond’s Street store.

I went to 3 other’ places and they were all rude to me. I decided to try one more before attempting to buy offline. I went into Astra Bridal, It just felt right. The staff were amazing, wonder and helpful.  I got to try on a range of dresses until I decided on the one.  It was a had choice but I got there in the end thanks to Wayne.

Astra were so welcoming and treated me like a special bride from the moment I walked in the door until I stepped out with my fabulous gown 4 months later. Wayne said at my first appointment “You’ll be part of our family for a short time” and that’s exactly how I felt. Nothing was too much trouble; the team there were honest, helpful and professional. I really felt they all went the extra mile. Any concerns I had were all allayed, the dress was well altered and as I left for my wedding in Fiji I felt like I had the most stunning gown on offer, 100% fitted for me, and I felt like a princess!! Wayne and the team at Astra Bridal are quite simply amazing.  They know exactly how to put a smile on a slightly frazzled bride-to-be’s face and have just the right advice for that final touch to make your wedding gown just perfect.  I absolutely love my gown, felt like a real life princess in it (cliche I know) and got the desired emotional reactions on the day from both my father and my now husband.  It was the perfect gown, made to fit perfectly with just the right final touches.  Thank you again to Wayne and the team for looking after me so well.

Choosing my wedding dress was one of the best experiences while planning my wedding and this was largely due to the amazing team at Astra Bridal, Auckland City. Sarah, Wayne, Mira and the team are such wonderful people. Sarah and Wayne helped me to choose my dream dress and Mira did the alterations for me. There was no pressure to ‘hurry up’ and choose a dress - I was deciding between two dresses in the end which I tried on multiple times and the team made me feel really comfortable and were very patient with me! Very friendly, lovely lovely people and they make you feel like family. It is no hassle to bring in bridesmaids, mums, mother in laws to see you try on your dress and they are so welcoming to everyone that comes in. I would not hesitate to recommend Astra to anyone wanting an awesome experience whilst finding and choosing a dress for their special day. I had so many compliments about my dress on the day too! Where do I start. Astra bridal in the city is amazing . Wayne and his team are so helpful and put so much effort into helping you find the perfect dress. I’m an anxious person and they made the process fun and relaxing.  When I had finally found my dress it arrived and I wasn’t 100% happy with how the dress was sitting at the back.  I didn’t need to worry Wayne got me back in and they pinned the dress and altered the dress so that it sat exactly how I wanted it.  When I went in for my final fitting the dress was perfect.  I loved it. The day before the a wedding i picked up my dress and Wayne helped me take it to the car.  Along with the dress was a special brides recuse pack. It was filled with everything you may need on the day. Mints. Plasters, safety pins, stain remover. Such a great idea and was used on the day.  I just can’t say enough about how excellent Wayne and his team were. My dress was amazing and everyone commented on the day how beautiful it was.  Would recommend every bride to go to astra!!!!!    Thanks Again!!! From

Wayne and the team at Astra Bridal Auckland City were absolutely amazing in helping me pick the perfect wedding dress!
I received a free consultation through a wedding magazine deal and it was well worth it.
I had no idea what type of wedding dress i wanted but after my initial consult i found the ONE =)
It was easy to pay off with a payment plan and because i had gone in with alot of time ti spare i had no problems with the dress having to be ordered in and then time for alterations which were minimal.
I had such a great time every time I went into the store and they never minded who tagged along with me be it my mum, sister, son or nana. Such a welcoming atmosphere and they really help to make you feel so beautiful in picking your dream dress. Full of tips of the trade. This is the only place to buy your dream wedding dress in my opinion.

Wayne and the team were brilliant and friendly.
They selected a wide range of dresses for me to try on, yet still stayed true to what would look good on me.
They made me feel I was a VIP client from day one and I never felt pushed into any decisions.
My only (constructive) criticism would be that the lighting in the store isn’t true so I found my dress looked yellower in the mirror than what it was. They will encourage you to go outside and this will help get a better idea of colour.
