I was 100% impressed with the service we received from the consultant, leading up to our visit (with 2 skype interviews), and throughout the selection process.  She was empathetic and selected appropriate options, prior to our arrival.  She also listened to feedback and responded accordingly.  The bride to be was made to feel very comfortable getting changed in front of her.  There was a fantastic selection of gowns and accessories and the payment plan side of the transaction was easy and efficient.

Astra Bridal was hands down my favourite wedding shop to visit in Wellington (and the rest of NZ). I had two dress searching appointments, and follow ups for fittings. My consultant Dianne was fantastic, and she was so knowledgeable about fit and body shape. I was so impressed with her skills and especially her kindness and patience during my visits. I loved the selection of dresses and the variety of price points. And I especially appreciated that my consultant was helping me with the dresses and there wasn’t any work for me to do other than enjoy the process. Highly recommend Astra Bridal!

Newly engaged, I was at the wellington wedding expo when I caught glimpse of my dream dress (the Maggie Sottero Emilena) at the astra bridal display. From that moment I knew it would be the one! I Booked an appointment and few days later I was in your store for my first fitting. Kirsty could not have made such an exciting moment more delightful. You were so lovely and understanding. You knew what suited me physically but also what suited my personality. Your team are experts and the service was seamless.  It was very reassuring given that from the time I bought the dress to the wedding I had moved overseas. Due to the travel I had my final fitting only 3 days before the wedding and could trust everything would be ok. Nothing was ever a problem. For anyone looking for their dream dress shop here they will look after you and ensure you look your best on your big day!

And now the on-going service i am receiving from Kirsty and other staff at Astra is amazing even just finding me my perfect pair of bridal shoes she has gone the extra mile and not once made me feel like i am being a fussy bridezilla (when i probably am haha).

While I didn’t end up buying from Astra in the end, I feel I should write a review to say how wonderful their staff are. 

I felt nothing but comfortable and looked after through the entire experience.  I went to 3 stores through my try on process and they has by far the best customer service skills. 

I would recommend every girl starts their hunt at Astra.

Thank you so much for your kind and professional consultation service. My gown choice by Sarah was awesome. I think the dress is exquisite and Dianne adjusted it beautifully. I really looked forward to wearing it on my wedding day. It felt beautiful and I had many comments about how it was the most elegant and beautiful dress they had ever seen- one comment was from a lady who spends some time in New York!

A memorable experience and a dream come true!

Lisa and the ladies at Astra Bridal Wellington are AMAZING and I am throughly indebted to them! They made choosing my wedding dress a stress-free and FUN experience - just as it should be!

These ladies are caring, thoughtful, friendly and highly experienced and knowledgable. Lisa found the exact right dress for me and I left after my very first visit RELIEVED and already knowing I needed to look no further! My fiancé was thrilled!

I LOVE my wedding dress and my experience at Astra Bridal WGTN meant that a crucial part of my wedding was exactly as I had always dreamed it to be.

The ladies became so invested in my experience they became more like family.

I was a little bit scared going into trying on wedding dresses as my body shape has always been an issue while finding flattering clothes, I have very broad shoulders and a tony bottom half so i always look like im about to topple over.

She made the whole experience so enjoyable, she is such a friendly, warm person and she really made me feel good about my body shape and the dresses we were trying.

I went away feeling 100% satisfied with the dresses she chose and recommended for me and I dont plan on looking anywhere else for a dress - they are THAT GOOD!

I could not have asked for a better experience when looking for the perfect dress. From the moment I walked in, the service and dress choices were amazing. Kirsty and the ladies went above and beyond to make my dress perfect. I had previously been to other wedding dress shops but I felt they just wanted my money and at times I feet uncomfortable, this was not the case with wellington Astra Bridal. I felt like they knew me and had a genuine interest in my big day.  It was about 7 months from when I choose my dress until the big day, during this time their communication was outstanding, and nothing was inconvenient for them. I could not recommend a better team to make you day special. I picked up my dress wishing they were all coming to the wedding. They are a team that know what they are doing, and do what they say they will do. I can not thank Kristy and the ladies at Astra bridal enough for adding to the perfection of our day.

I have had the most amazing experience at Astra Bridal!
I was so nervous about going in to try on dresses, as I’d been into a few when my Sister in law was getting married some years ago and some places can just give you such a snotty *we’re so high and mighty* atmosphere which makes you really uncomfortable.
Turned out I had nothing to be worried about, as this is certainly not the case at Astra.
My consultant Kirsty has just been wonderful, shes so helpful, and so friendly and you can tell she is genuinely interested in your wedding and in helping you find the perfect dress and not just about making a sale,
I feel like I’m hanging out and chatting to a good friend rather than just a customer/sales person situation.
From day one I’ve been treated to excellent service from all the ladies at Astra Bridal, nothing is too difficult, or inconvenient, they always stay in touch to keep you in the loop about everything that’s going on with your dress.
The collection of gowns is incredible and my Kirsty really knows her stuff.
She can find the perfect gown to suit your body and has a really good eye for knowing what will look good on you before you even know yourself.
I’m so in love with my gown and can’t wait to wear it in January.

I had the most amazing experiences at Astra Bridal Wellington. Kirsty was amazing, she took the time to get to know me and what kind of wedding we were having. She understood what was important to me.  Kirsty found a dress that she knew would suit me based on what i liked. The gown was perfect for me and our wedding and absolutely beautiful. Kirsty knew what would work best for me and could not have been better.  Lisa was also amazing and made me and my sisters feel welcomed and looked after.  I would highly recommend any bride going to them.

I am not usually a review writer however I felt I really had to write one about the fantastic service I have received from Astra bridal (and in particular Kirsty). 

Friendly, helpful, fun, accessible, approachable, professional, caring are all words which apply to the service I have received.  From my first trying on of a wedding dress ever to choosing accessories, arranging alterations, dying shoes Astra & Kirsty have been amazing. 

I would thoroughly recommend a trip to Astra, especially if you have found other wedding dress shops to be a little pushy, judgmental or stuffy.  Astra is none of those things.  I was recommended Astra by some of my friends & they did not disappoint me either.

Kirsty from Astra Bridal was amazing.  She let us try on a wide range of dresses which meant I really got what I wanted,  When I found the dress but wasn’t sure about the price she didn’t pressurize me to purchase it but gave me plenty of time and thinking space - which is what you need,  They even let me go and try on the dress a couple of times so other people were able to give me there opinion.  She kept me informed all the way through about the date of delivery to which was great as it was one thing not to worry about.  I can’t recommend them enough!

I walked into Astra Bridal in Wellington with no idea what I was looking for.
Long story short, Kirsty was amazing!
She was so patient and made wonderful, honest and helpful suggestions that resulted in me finding and purchasing the most amazing wedding dress.
The entire process was so easy and seamless. Communication regarding shipping and arrival of my dress was thoughtful and much appreciated.
The atmosphere is professional and friendly making the whole experience nice and relaxed.
I cant recommend them enough.

Astra Bridal were so amazing and made me feel like the most beautiful bride ever!

They were very easy to deal with and helped me to find the right dress and accessories for my body shape and they setup an easy payment plan to assist with payment of the dress.

They also have a fantastic website which I utilised to do a lot of research on dresses and shapes before making my first appointment in store. From there the girls helped me try on various dresses - I even picked ‘“the dress” that same day!

Averil (there in-house seamstress) is also wonderful and helped to make sure the dress fitted just perfectly.

Overall, I would highly recommend Astra Bridal to any bride out there that is looking for a wide variety of beautiful dresses and fantastic customer service.

I highly recommend Astra Bridal Wellington for the following reasons:
- their online website is great – working office hours meant that I don’t have a lot of time to shop so it was really helpful being able to see their range online first so that I could be more focussed at my appointments

- As my entire bridal party and family were not based in Wellington, it meant a lot to me that I was allowed to take photos so that I could get their opinion. I understand why some retailers don’t like photos being taken but it really made my day. Being able to refer to the photos also meant that I could take my time to make sure I was making the right decision and gave me peace of mind while I was waiting for the dress to arrive.

- Averil, who is their in house seamstress, is fantastic! I think she truly understands that a bride wants to look perfect on her wedding day. She tweaked every seam until the dress fitted me perfectly.

- they have a great range – not all dresses are in their Wellington store but they were happy to have dresses sent to them from their other stores if there was something that I wanted to try on

- Lisa took the initiative to have a dress sent down from another store that she thought I might like based on some pictures I had sent her. Although it wasn’t the final dress I picked, I really appreciate the thought she put into. 

- Sarah, who was my consultant, was really friendly and helpful. I felt that she wasn’t just saying ‘yes’ to everything just to get a sale but actually used her judgement to help pick something that would work for me. For example, I was tossing up between white and ivory. In the end, I went with her suggestion and I’m so glad that I did! She was not pushy and didn’t try to sell me anything that I didn’t need.

Love love love the ladies at Astra Bridal!! Great service great atmosphere and defo would recommend to anyone who is nervous about even looking at wedding dresses. They make you feel so at ease and comfortable and still give you that professional opinion.

Astra Bridal were amazing to deal with. I left finding a dress till very last minute and the girls there made finding a dress very relaxed and easy.

Lisa in particular was extremely helpful and as I had to travel to Wellington for my appointment she emailed me some ideas of what they had that she thought I would like from the phone discussion we had, just to make sure I would find something in their store. She went the extra mile for me and made everything so nice and easy.

The Astra Bridal team were lovely and made what should have been a stressful event (because of my short time frame) very relaxed and fun.
