I had a great day today with Karen and Pat, I couldnt have asked for a better experience. They were honest, knowlegeable, paitence and so friendly.  We had lots of laughs and I came out of the store with 4 dresses on my shortlist after trying on 12 dresses. I didnt feel pressured or rushed and will definatley be purchasing one of these dresses in the next few weeks.
Thanks so much
Emma-Jane Austin

Poor service. The lady serving us was not helpful and took 10mins to greet us. She wasn’t busy she was just reading a magazine just plain lazy and rude. I would never recommend this place.

Bridal Corner was recommended to me by my sister as she had bought her dress from there.

My sister is around a size 8/10 whereas I’m a size 14/16.  Because of this, our experiences were very different.

Going in to the store, I had a rough idea of what I wanted for a dress - nothing to ‘princessy’, definitely no mesh or under layers, something simple and my style.  I was told by the manager at Bridal Corner that the style that I wanted would not suit my body type, therefore there was no use in trying them on.  She brought around 5 dresses in for me, all similar ‘poofy’ styles that I specifically said I didn’t want to try.  In one way it was good that she did this because it just proved that I did in fact feel ridiculous in them and I should stick to my guns.

After each dress I was asked what else I wanted to try on and I continued to explain what I wanted and was continually rebuffed.  They actually would not let me try on what I wanted to try.  I walked out of the store very disappointed, and ended up buying a dress, exactly what I had originally wanted, at another store.

I would recommend Bridal Corner as one you should try, but do not hang all your hopes on it.  They do have an excellent range, but generally are much happier dressing slimmer girls.

I bought my wedding gown today from Pat at Brides Corner and had a wonderful experience.

I first went to Brides Corner about 2 months ago and tried on 6-7 dresses in one hour.  I had been online to look at their selection first and came with a list of dresses I wanted to try on.  My mum and sister came with and gave advice and when we asked Pat her thoughts she gave us good, honest advice.  It was pleasing that she also knew all of the dresses very well - I’ve been to other stores where the shop assistants didn’t really know their stock.  At my second visit to the store I found out she used to make wedding dresses, which made sense, as she was able to give us practical advice about the cut of dresses etc

I would definitely recommend going to Brides Corner.  The shop itself is nice and clean and there are good areas and seating for trying on the dresses.

Since I bought my dress from there, I got my try-on/consultation fee deducted from the price of the dress and Pat also told me given the cost of my dress that if any alterations were necessary she would do them for free.

I have just purchased my wedding dress from Brides Corner and found the experience not only exciting and very special, but also a fun and amusing experience.

When i first walked in, i found that the gowns were really beautiful, but the price of the gowns were a bit overwhelming.  But the staff member asked what price range i was looking at and led me straight to the dresses i might be interested in.  And to be honest i felt like a big weight had lifted off my shoulders.

I found the perfect dress that suited my body type and was very pleased about her honesty, which fitted in well with the honesty of my two bridesmaids.  I absolutely adore my dress, it was like a dream dress that i thought might break the budget, but it fitted right in.

I had an awesome experience and would recommend this store to anyone.  I am not your typical body shape, she told me i was a range of sizes which i totally agreed, as to a previous shop that couldn’t get it right. I had no appointment and was able to try on dresses and walk out with my dress with no problems, feeling satisfied and looking forward for my husband-to-be to see me in it.

I think from some of the previous reviews that they may have looked at creating a better service for their customers, i found mine to be amazing and this shop does have something for everyone.  And yes ladies, wedding dress sizes are totally different from normal clothing.  I went from a size 12 in clothing to a size 16 in my dress and as long as it fitted i didn’t mind at all.

Thank you Brides Corner!!!!!!

We found good service at Kelly Bridal on Lambie Drive in Manukau. The girls were very helpful and I was able to try on many dresses as I liked for free of charge, with no pressure or obligations to buy. They had a huge selection of dresses and styles, the lady reminded me that it’s your big day and made me feel like a valued customer. I was very happy I managed to get my wedding dress for only $710 and got two other friends that are brides to be to purchase from there store aswell.

Brides Corner was the first place I visited to try on wedding gowns.  I was very disappointed with the lack of interest or care Pat had in her ‘customer service’.
It was as though it was a complete chore to have to help me and her opinions were the ones that mattered, not mine or my Mum’s.  Overall, I was expecting to feel special and excited trying on dresses, instead I felt rushed and unimportant (there was no one else in the store either).  They have forgotten what its all about at Brides Corner.

[The woman at Brides Corner] is a monster! I paid the fee to try on dresses, and was told that I could return at anytime to try the one I liked since I had paid.

That was not the case. When I returned later to try on the dress again (because I was having doubts about the dress I had chosen), she refused because she said there was no way I could buy the dress from her because it was too close to my wedding date.

I asked for my money back, since she had failed to provide me with the service she said she would, and she refused.

My orginal dress did fall through, and I had to find a new one 3 weeks before my wedding. I went to Renee Bridal, who whipped up an INCREDIBLE wedding dress in 2 weeks. Renee knows what service is, [Brides Corner] does not.

I had a terrible experience today at Brides Corner - I had booked and advised them of my size and shape (im a real pear, 16 on top and 18 on bottom usually).  The woman owner was rude “there is no hope in hell of most of our dresses fitting you” “you are in no way a 18, more like a 22” etc.  I was wearing a size 16 dress from Max, and had advised her on my measurements in cm!  She embarrassed me beyond belief, threw dresses at me then left for me to “sort yourself out” and told me I wasnt allowed to try the dresses I had advised her the week before that I liked as I “would rip them” (as clearly I was too fat!).  I am 167cm tall, weigh 85kg and have, in the last 2 years, lost 60kg.  Even at my heaviest I have never felt as embarassed and belittled as I did today.  I was also told that her store was the only one that was “honest” and how “lucky” I was to be able to try on dresses at her store! It blew my mind.  Mum didnt know whether to laugh or cry.  Needless to say, we walked out.

Where do I start. I had spent $1500 around 7 years ago at Brides Corner when I was married previously. I ordered a size up because the sample I tried on was too tight, Pat told me that it would be exactly the same just fit better. I told her repeatedly I did not want to look bigger than I am (a size 16 in normal clothing) and did not want to accentuate my bust. Months later two weeks before the wedding, my fiance had been in ten minutes prior to pay the balance for the dress (dress cost$1900) Incidentally I had also spent approx $200 on jewellery when I ordered the dress. When I tried on the dress I was so devestated as when I stood sideways my body looked like a barrel, no shape. Going up a size increased the bust area, which changed the whole shape of my bust. Her advice to buy a dress in the larger size in that style was not good advice. I have been told since by an expert that that style of dress is suitable for someone with a long waist,( I am short waisted.) Pat refused to do anything, she told me that I had serious body image issues, which was very hurtful, that she had done her best and that she did not want two dresses the same in the shop albeit different size. With my wedding only a short while away I did not want to upset my husband to be, I wanted to continue having a stress free, happy wedding and was so upset at having to fork out $800 to hire another dress elsewhere (which looked gorgeous and did not make me look huge like Joan of Arc like the one from Brides Corner) I said to Pat that I had spent a lot of money with her over the years and this is how she treated me, she said I had to take the dress and go. We now have the dress for sale in the place I hired the second dress I ended up wearing. We are $1900 out of pocket and Pat from Brides Corner is richer for it. I don’t know how she sleeps at night. Reading the other unhappy customers comments about the rudeness experienced there I am not surprised. I would stay right away from the place especially if you cannot try on and buy the same size you need. It’s as bad a risk as buying off the internet blindly and you have no come back.

The staff at Brides Corner could not have been more helpful. I found their advice invaluable. Pat knew immediately what suited me - colour, style, shape. I left feeling a million dollars and simply couldn’t wait to pick up my dress. When it was ready (right on time) it needed minor alterations but nothing is too much trouble for these ladies!
I have recommended this store to a friend and, although she did not find a dress here, she was more than happy with the service.

I received really poor customer service at Brides Corner. It seemed like it was all too much trouble for the sales assistant who was brusque and had clearly overbooked appointments. Despite having two appointments with them, I only ended up trying four dresses in total. One of which I really loved but because it was such an awful experience at their store there is no way that I would purchase from them - so disappointing. I left there feeling like a chicken in a pecking order! I have now found a lovely dressmaker - Faye Marmont - who is making my dress for me thank goodness and who clearly hasn’t forgotten that this is a very special, important moment in someone’s life. Yay!

They were recommended by my daughter’s fiance’s family. We found them extremely helpful. We had problems with shops in Whangarei, who conned us into buying a large dress they said could be altered. (It was not possible!) They came to the rescue , measured correctly and ordered the same dress, which was a perfect fit. Now daughter number two is buying hers from them too.
Both daughters were encouraged to try on several styles etc, and walk around the store to see if they felt comfortable.

Did not enjoy my experience at Brides Corner. The staff member was incredibly rude and insulting. She insulted my figure and made me feel like I would not fit anything in store (I am a size 12) and criticised my choice of gowns and was rude to my mother and bridesmaids when they expressed opinions. She wouldn’t let me walk in the gown in case I ruined it (I wanted to walk across the shop!) Couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Whilst Brides Corner do have a great selection of Essence and Martina Liana dresses, I would not recommend any Bride went there - try another essence stockist instead. The staff member essentially ruined what was supposed to be a very special and emotional experience.

The service at Bride’s Corner was terrible. Especially in comparison to the other bridal stores I have visited where the sales assistant’s are helpful and friendly.

We found the lady who served us to be rude (extremely), unhelpful & uninterested. She insinuated that there would be no point trying on the dresses (at a cost of fifty dollars, which we were more than happy to pay) if we weren’t intending to buy one from her store.

She also mentioned that there would be no point in getting a dress made like one in their store because it would never be the same & I would end up disappointed as a result.

In the end, we just left because she didn’t want us to try on any dresses.

Overall, very rude & unhelpful and I would definitely not recommend her store to anyone else who was going wedding dress shopping.
