First of all on behalf of my wife Jennifer and myself we cannot thank you enough for the fantastic time that we spent with you on Saturday.

It is rare to find someone in any profession who has a deep rooted passion for what they do but can also share and deliver that passion externally. From the moment you walked into our home at lunch time, you brought not just your incredible photographic skills but your wonderful relaxed nature and humour into the entire process. This meant so much, particularly to Fiona and her bridesmaids and of course then by default this meant to Jennifer and myself we were also both relaxed and swept along in the incredible experience. This first session with you at the house set the scene for the wonderful day that was to follow.

Moving across to Albert Park and the University with the full bridal party was also a joy and a pleasure for me to watch and was thoroughly enjoyed by Sam and his girls as well.

Finally of course to the wedding itself both with the ceremony part and then the photos with family and friends, from our point of view it seemed as if it was seamless and you controlled it brilliantly. 

I know that Fiona and Sam were absolutely delighted and the fact that she had seen you previously at her friends wedding a few years ago (Zane and Nicki) gave her the confidence to approach you for their wedding and it was fully justified. You filled not only your primary role of being the ‘official’ photographer but you supplemented this with being the groups ‘relaxer’ and ‘fun maker’ which removed any potential tension and/or stress which we can never repay you for.
Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts and well done.

Hi Chris,

It was obviously our one year anniversary recently. It’s gone very quickly!

We managed to take some time to reflect, on the past year and of course on our wedding day itself. We’ve been to a couple of weddings this year, and we found it very interesting doing so having got married reasonably recently. It put a whole new perspective on it.

So, with that in mind - thank you again for being our photographer and helping us have what we thought was the perfect day. In particular, thank you for all the little things that you did and tips that you gave us that we now realise pass other photographers by! I think we may appreciate those the most. And of course we are very happy (Sol in particular) that we were your 1000th wedding!

If I was asked to describe Chris as a person and as a professional in only one word, my answer would simply be “incredible”. He just is.

Chris makes you feel relaxed and at ease from the time you first meet him, right through until you collect your finished product and say goodbye. He’s so genuine and down to earth, and man is he full of ideas and knowledge! He has this ability to increase your excitement level ten fold just by listening to his suggestions.

When we saw some of Chris’ photos from previous weddings, it was immediately clear to us that this man knows his profession like the back of his hand. And we have not once regretted or even doubted our decision to hire him. In fact, we still say how happy we are that we chose him everytime we look at our photos.

Our wedding day was so incredible. It was romantic, light hearted and so much fun. I truely feel that Chris’ skills and energy contributed immensly to the enjoyment we all had. Family and friends were coming to us and commenting about how awesome our photographer was, and they had good reason too; Chris was completely incontrol, without being domineering. He was fun and exciting yet remained professional. He kept a great momentum throughout all the photos but no one was ever rushed along, and neither did they have to stand around wondering when they were or were not needed. He just had this perfect balance between relaxed and busy, I can’t explain it. He was just brilliant!

Chris was so respectful during the special and really personal moments that he captured (father seeing bride for the first time, bride and grooms first look), he didnt miss the moment yet you never felt his presence. We cannot thank him enough for his ability to do that.

The bride and groom only photos that we have are stunning and the bridal party photos are so dang cool I grin everytime I look at them. How do you really thank someone for that.

And I can’t forget to mention the laughs that we had on the day, my goodness he is so good at getting a laugh out of anyone he meets, it just adds to the emotion of the day. Chris captured such real and natural moments that are so stunning I feel like I’m looking at our lives in a fairytale book, its such an awesome feeling.

Choosing Chris to be our photographer on a day that is so important buy so fast paced wass the best decision we made during the planning of our wedding. Our photos are our memories and we hit the jackpot having Dillon Photography there with us, capturing every part of our day.

We had Chris as our photographer for our Wedding, I was quite nervous as I was planning the wedding from overseas however Chris was easy to work with and met with us over Skype so we could actually see him and chat face-to-face before the wedding. The booking and collaboration process was easy and Chris gave many examples of the kind of photographer he is and the albums he uses to portray the story of the wedding day.

On the day he was professional but also knew how to have a laugh, he kept the pace of the day flowing, knew what shot he wanted and got them quickly. His knowledge of the areas we wanted to photograph in was also fantastic, he was also very reassuring should it have rained on the day with a list of backup locations, thankfully we didn’t need them.

The album is gorgeous and is a great memory of our day. And the design process was easy to do from another country. It is amazingly well made and I’m sure it will stand the test of time, everyone we have shown the album to has remarked on what a great photographer Chris was and how well he captured the day.

Chris is the best photographer to be around! he is super passionate and talented in what he does, and he made everyone at ease in taking pictures, no awkward moments in posing! it’s a privilege for our wedding to be captured by him!

Thank you to the whole “Dillon photography” team for capturing our wedding day in the most perfect way. They made us feel at ease from start to finish.

Chris was absolutely brilliant at our first meeting, and my partner and I were blown away by his enthusiasm and knowledge regarding his craft.  We went into the meeting with our own naive ideas about how things should go on the day, and Chris was great about offering us other options that made the day work out even better.

One of his other photographers - Aaron - worked with us on our wedding day, and he was absolutely fabulous, can’t recommend him enough!  He was able to put us through our paces for the photos without making us feel rushed, and there were some real gems when we got the photos back.

Definitely the wedding photographer we’d recommend to anyone in the Auckland (or NZ!) area, and they have a range of packages for all budgets that deliver quality service on the day, and beautiful photos for after.

We had heard only good things about Chris Dillon so my husband and I met with him about a year out from our wedding…. and we loved him from the first minute we spent with him! He is insanely passionate about what he does and this comes through in all of his work and just how he is as a person. We booked him immediately. We are from Auckland but our wedding was in Paihia so he and his assistant Delena drove up to Paihia for us.

They were absolutely AMAZING on the day. Before the ceremony, Chris took pictures of us girls and the groomsmen separately (no first look for us, we are very traditional) and was fantastic at keeping us relaxed. He jokes and talks a mile a minute and it was exactly what we needed to stay calm! He was almost a fourth bridesmaid too - anything that needed doing he was eager to help out with. He immediately engaged and connected with everyone…. from my Nana to all of our groomsmen which made everybody feel very comfortable.

The photos Chris and Delena took are absolutely amazing. I have had literally hundreds of comments from people about how our wedding photos are the most amazing they have ever seen. Every one is a stand out and every one is stunning. We thought we would feel awkward on the day but Chris was so wonderful at making us laugh and putting us at ease and that really shows in the photos - there are no fake smiles or awkwardness. Every picture looks natural and beautiful. As well as the photo shoot, Chris captured so many other special moments - like me with my parents before the wedding, every special moment of the ceremony, hugging each one of our guests after the ceremony and every detail shot you can imagine. He is also an expert at wrangling family and all of the guests for the group shots-we thought it would take him a long time to get everyone sorted but he had done it in thirty seconds and had our guests in hysterics at the same time!

He works very efficiently, he gets the shots he needs and moves on quickly so you’re not standing in one spot for ages while he sets up (which is actually really important on a hot summers day in the boiling sun). We had quite a few different places we wanted photos at and he moved effortlessly between them all and gave us absolutely everything we wanted…. even pictures with our cat Jetty! He was fantastic at getting Jetty to sit calmly in our arms and looking right at his camera - how many wedding photographers can do that?! Our flower girl was also pretty shy and nervous and he was just wonderful working with her- so kind and sweet.

Chris and Delena were also fantastic at working with our videographers, Bubblerock. They were wonderful at getting the amazing shots we wanted but also hanging back at times so Bubblerock could get what they needed too.

Our Queensberry album is amazing. Talia spent so much time getting it just perfect and we are so thrilled with it.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer - Hire Chris Dillon! He won’t just give you amazing photos that you will treasure forever - he will also help make your day even more fun and less stressful. Hiring him was one of the very best decisions we made. Chris is a master, He was fantastic from planning prior to our wedding and right through the day.
He is able to get photos that are simply stunning with what seemed like effortlessness. He is able to break the ice with ease, getting the shots with perfect timing. He shot our ceremony and it didn’t even feel like he was there.

We had Chris as our wedding photographer and couldnt have been happier.  Not only were the photos fantastic, but we had an amazing day.  Chris was completely professional and encouraged everyone to have fun on the day - he and one of our bridesmaids (or brideslaves as Chris refers to them) decided to sing the Elephant Song from Moulin Rouge at the top of their voices on the way to the venue! We received a lot of compliments from our guests about Chris and would have no problem recommending him to ANYONE looking for a wedding photographer.

I’m from California, have not been to many weddings in NZ, and didn’t really know what to expect from any of our vendors for our wedding, but I can say that without a doubt, one of our best decisions was hiring Chris Dillon.  We were really blown away by the service he provided for us, not only on the wedding day but leading up to it and afterwards.  However, on the wedding day, I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to have Chris with us.  He knew exactly what to do and when, and I have no doubt our photos will be amazing.  We had countless compliments from our guests about how good he was, and as so many people have already said, he put everyone at ease.

I have friends getting married soon, and they’ve all been asking me what I would do differently and what I was really happy with, and honestly, the first thing I say that I was most impressed with was Chris.  In fact, we’re having another reception in California, and my mom was upset that I hadn’t told her he was willing to come to California as well!

Wow….what can I say, the album is amazing. We love it! Thanks so much to you and Chris, the photography and the album captures the day perfectly for us.

There is a reason that Dillon/Simply Photos are number #1 photographers in Auckland.  I was recommended to Dillon from a friend and after the first consultation with Chris didn’t look anywhere else.  Chris set aside a good hour to show me examples of wedding photos, talk through the details of the wedding day and answer any questions.  I was very impressed with what the Simply Photos part of Dillon had to offer.

On the day we had Aaron, Simply Photos photographer and he was brilliant.  My husband isn’t really that into having his photograph taken but Aaron made it painless and most importantly fun.  He took some excellent getting ready shots of the girls and took a quick few of the groom/groomsmen just before the ceremony which have turned out brilliant - you can’t tell from the photos that there were any nerves!  When we received the photos I couldn’t believe how many photos Aaron had taken during the ceremony.  He was so inconspicuous on the day, can’t remember him even being in the church. 

The photos at Bastion Point are lovely.  There is a good mix of bride/groom and entire bridal party.  Most importantly Aaron captured the lovey dovey shots, the silliness, the serious and the fun.  We love the mix of shots we have - makes our enlargement choosing very difficult. 

When we received the prints of our photos and disc, we were blown away.  It was so exciting to pick the photos up and live the memory of the day through what Aaron had captured.  Chris Dillon is right, people spend a whole load of money on food and alcohol that isn’t remember for long but aren’t so keen on spending money on photos which are your memory for life.  The wedding photos you get from Dillon are worth every cent, they are stunning.
