About Helen Rutledge
As an experienced celebrant for weddings, civil unions, funerals, child thanksgiving and baby naming ceremonies, I would be delighted to work with you to create a personalised ceremony which will contribute to making your occasion special and meaningful for you.
Meeting you and planning your ceremony with you is an important part of the way that I work. At our first planning meeting I will listen to your ideas, and, where appropriate, contribute my suggestions and talk you through a range of options for your ceremony. I then write an individualised ceremony for you. If you live overseas the “getting to know you” process is done by phone (I am on skype) and / or email. This is an option I have found to work very well. We then work on drafts until you are happy with every aspect of the ceremony. I recommend a rehearsal for a wedding or civil union ceremony – that way we can ensure that everything will go as you expected it to on your special day. I work on the basis of no more than one ceremony per day, so you are assured my full professional and personal attention at your special occasion.
I welcome week day weddings and civil unions and, whilst I work primarily in the Auckland and Pauanui Areas, I am happy to discuss being your celebrant at any location in New Zealand. It is a good idea to book well in advance, particularly for weekend ceremonies during the November to March period.

Helen was an amazing celebrant. When I first contacted her she was so friendly. On our first meeting she was again friendly and full of so many great ideas. She planned our ceremony with us and emailed me a full detailed sheet with exactly how the ceremony would go and what would be said. Helen gave me xtra support and meet with me more then once to help me write my vowels so that I could perfect them. Helen was great at our rehearsal and made sure we hadn’t forgotten anything. On the day she was excellent. Would 100% recommend helen
