Restating what Trudi said: It’s a cool idea and I’m sure if executed correctly it could work well (and perhaps does in Australia). However at time of writing (2011-12-05), the operation of this company in NZ is somewhat half arsed.

If guests choose to pay by “internet banking”, they’ll be given an Australian bank account number. Which means a $25 SWIFT (wire) settlement fee. And probably means going into a branch. Paying by credit card was going to cost me $30 in fees. This is in addition to the costs the bride and groom paid for the service in the first place! 

The staff don’t really seem to understand how international dialing works - I gave them a NZ mobile number of the form +64 21 xxx xxxx and they were unable to dial it, asking me which city code they needed to use.

I also found the staff rude to deal with on the phone.

There’s a gap in the market for a company that is serious about operating in NZ and is prepared to put the hard yards in. Just my 2c.

We strongly suggest you DO NOT use this vendor.

To be fair, the idea they have is a good one. However, If you are outside Australia and choose to get your payments made via direct banking you WILL be charged hidden bank fees,  DESPITE what this companies terms and conditions clearly state.
And not only that, when you call to talk to them about it, they will be rude, condescending and belligerent.
