We got married at the Black Barn in Tarawera Rotorua. It is a beautiful spot over looking the lake with a newly renovated black barn that provides a lovely blank space. We found On My Hand Props in the Together Magazine and doing our research online. From what we read on their website and pictures we knew it was exactly what we were looking forward. What won us over was Shaye the owner. Right from the beginning we knew we wanted to work with her. She is extremely personable person, easy to discuss ideas and provided great suggestions when asked. It was a neat experience working together and coming up with the final brief for the space we wanted to create for our guests. What she executed was above and beyond our expectations. She had left over greenery and flowers and created this spectacular drape that hung behind the bridal party table. Shaye was also very flexible with making changes to areas to meet our budget. When asked for other options with the crockery Shaye was only to happy to assist and provided us with a great alternative option that matched our budget.  I can’t recommend her work and customer service skills highly enough.

Shaye created the most incredible archway and bouquets for our wedding. All the flowers were so stunning - the brief was my favourite lipstick colours and the flowers she chose were amazing! Everything was lush, wild and beautiful. The archway was such a hit with our guests; they were drawn to it and everyone got amazing shots underneath it. It was a focal point for our post wedding photos with our guests too, it was just too stunning to not have it as the backdrop.

Shaye was very flexible and accommodating when I added extra bits to our order. You can tell she loves her work/flowers and creating beautiful things. I’m so impressed with how she can produce such different array of flowers, suited to each couple and the location of the wedding.

Shaye went above and beyond to ensure that all of our requirements (some very last minute) were met. Even when we thought we had everything we wanted she wasn’t shy to suggest little things that added so much detail.

Shaye is professional, organised and so easy to talk to. She listened to all of our ideas and was also happy to offer her advice on what she thought would work and what could work better.  She took a lot of the pressure off us by taking most of the ordering of the equipment into her own hands.

Even on the day Shaye was there making sure that everything was set up properly and everything was in the right place. She stayed around just after we had our ceremony to move a few things around so we didn’t have to do it ourselves.

It really felt like Shaye took this on as if it was her own wedding day, she wanted it to be just as perfect as we did. For us it didn’t feel like it was just a job to her but something she really enjoyed and was very passionate about.

Would recommend her to anyone looking for a florist/stylist!

We chose Shaye @ On My Hand as the florist for our wedding and she made the venue and our party even more beautiful than we imagined.

Relaxed and flexible working attitude, really helpful and freaking creative when it comes to floral arrangements!!

We selected a garden venue for our wedding and Shaye took it to the next level with wild flowers in a colour palette of peachy, apricot, yellow, white and green.

The flowers (from the bouquet tot he flower crowns received the most compliments from all of our suppliers, and I would highly recommend Shaye if you can snap her up!

I came across Shaye through an acquaintance. Over time I followed Shaye’s work on her social media and fell in love with her style.
I knew that I wanted to use her talents for my wedding.
Shaye was easy to talk to, felt like talking to a friend more than a vendor. I am not very good at communicating exactly what I was looking for so I met up with Shaye and showed her a few ideas on Pinterest that I liked. She took those ideas and made something special for me on my wedding day.
I knew I could trust her with her talents so I gave her the reigns and I was not disappointed. I loved my bouquet and my gold leaf crown on the day. Everyone raves about the beautiful work that Shaye had done.
I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to do the flowers and I cannot recommend her enough!

From start to finish, Shaye was awesome to work with. We spoke to her numerous times via Skype, phone calls and she even set up a meeting to come to the church we got married at to scope out where the flowers could go. I was elated to see my flowers on our wedding day- they were just gorgeous. My favourite part was the post she thoughtfully made for me to place on my grandmother’s grave so that she could also be a part of my wedding day- it was an emotional and special part of our day. The styling at the venue was perfect. We can’t thank Shaye enough for the awesome job she and her team did on our day.

I live in the UK and planned my wedding in the Bay of Plenty from overseas. I came across Shaye at OMH by complete chance as the link popped up on my facebook page.

The OMH website illustrates Shaye’s lovely work so I reached out to her via email with pictures and ideas of what I was after. Throughout the lead up to the wedding Shaye was so responsive via email and helpful with all the questions I had. Shaye created and styled all the floral arrangements for the wedding as well as extras such as table set up, balloons and gift area.

On the wedding day everything was exactly as I had asked, and the floral arrangements were absolutely perfect! I had shown Shaye a couple of pictures of bouquets that I had liked and said she could figure out what will work best with the flowers in season. I would not have changed anything at all, Shaye created the most amazing bouquets, flower pockets for the boys, overhanging feature piece for the head table and the most beautiful dangling flower arrangement for the ceremony.

Shaye did the most amazing work on the flowers for our wedding. From the bouquets, flower crowns, buttonholes to the table settings - everything was just perfect. She took my brief & created the most beautiful floral arrangements that I have ever seen. I felt so lucky carrying her gorgeous flowers around & wearing hands-down the best floral crown ever made. My bridesmaids looked utterly gorgeous with their leafy crowns & were even better than I thought they could be. Shaye is so easy to talk to, she really listens & understands your brief. I couldn’t have wished for anything better on our wedding day. When my bouquets & flower crowns arrived it was truly one of my favourite parts of the day - I was blown away.

Outstanding work from Shaye and her team for our family wedding 7/1/17. Beautiful floral work helped create the ambiance and atmosphere for a perfect day. Creative attention from the smallest table detail to the largest garlands ensured a stunning setting for our gorgeous bride and groom. The cake decoration was perfection itself and balanced the visual impact of the cake with tasteful floral embellishment, The bride loved her bouquet. Shaye also helped with props and we could confidently leave her to set up and display candles in glass boxes as well as dress the room and tables with flowers, menu and place names as well as table numbers. My childhood friend started planning her hometown wedding in Tauranga all the way from Perth. Being local I jumped on board to help her out and immediately thought of On My Hand.

After years of following Shaye’s beautiful work I knew she would be a key person in making this day come together. We basically started with a season, one colour and a rough brief - Shaye was able to come back to me with ideas, suggestions, budgets & we got planning. Her communication, knowledge and flexibility made everything seem so easy.

To me, the people behind the beauty make all the difference and OMH have you covered. We found Shaye/OMH through seeing her work in the Together Magazine. From the very beginning, she was a delight to work with. We had complete faith in her style and really left most of the decisions up to her.
My husband and I are based in Melbourne however I am from Tauranga originally and my family still live there. Shaye was an easy choice based on her reputation and aesthetic design. We were open from the get go about what sort of budget we had available and she worked with us on making it all work out.

Shaye took care of all of our wedding flowers and reception styling. I was so happy with my bouquet and what she created. I had sent through a few images of work she had previously done + a few things from Pintrest and she created something beyond my imagination. She even specially sourced some white protea flowers for me.

As our reception venue was basically a large empty space (Tauranga Rowing Club) with no one looking after setup or pack down, we had Shaye take care of everything on our behalf.
She liaised with other suppliers for us to ensure the room was setup on time and that everything was packed down the following day. This made our day stress free and also let Shaye have time to really create something incredible with the space available. She built a large floral installation hanging from hooks in the ceiling which absolutely blew away our guests. Not only did it make the space look great but she pulled it all apart the following day and dropped off all of the flowers to my families house.

We really didn’t have much of an idea of what we wanted for the room but had complete faith that Shaye would design something that we would love and she definitely did. Every one of our guests praised her styling and florals and she made our day that much more incredible! Thank you Shaye!!

Shaye was fantastic to work with and gave us a garland and bouquets that were absolutely gorgeous! She worked with the colour palette I suggested and as I didn’t have a lot of knowledge about flowers I felt totally confident putting my trust in Shaye and her team to deliver something that would be timeless and elegant.

Shaye made organising a wedding over in Saudi Arabia seem like a piece of cake! Right from the first email reply I knew I could trust her and it was awesome knowing that shaye would turn my ideas into a magical display-involving flower wands, hanging wreaths, a beautifully decorated cheese cake and stunning bouquets. I came across OMH on instagram 16 months before my wedding, before I’d even picked a date or venue and I knew that OMH would be the ones to do our wedding flowers. As soon as I’d locked in a date and venue, the next thing I locked in was OMH. Shaye is my dream florist, and I was every bit in love with the type of flowers and styling she specialised in. I live in Brisbane so co-ordinating everything from overseas and sharing ideas all via email with Shaye was seamless. Once I met Shaye it felt like I’d known her forever and when I saw my bouquet on the morning of my wedding I nearly cried, it was stunning. Once I got to the venue, I could barely contain my happiness and shed a few tears at just how beautiful everything was. As flowers were our only decor at our wedding, they were just stunning and exactly what I had envisioned. Shaye also had signs made for our wedding and we hired some through her too, everything was just so easy and affordable. I would highly recommend OMH to anyone and definitely use them again!

I sent through a bunch of ideas to Shaye via Pinterest and hoped she would be able to make sense of it all - not only did she take my vision but turned it into a beautiful creation!! She made beautiful yet understated olive leaf flower crowns for the bridesmaids which completely transformed their look. She also made incredible floral chandeliers that hung in the marquee we got married under - it didn’t matter that it was pouring down outside as the marquee looked really magical with the chandeliers. And the bouquets were gorgeous - Shaye managed to source everything that I was looking for that was in season, and was so friendly, helpful and professional. It was a dream to leave my wedding flowers in her hands! Thank you so so much for exceeding all expectations xx

Shaye and her team did a fabulous job of creating my dream florals for our wedding day.  After showing her an extensive Pinterest board she somehow managed to capture what I was after, but also managed to add a touch of her own style.  Shaye is not only amazingly talented, but is also lovely to deal with and I will definitely recommend her in future.

Hiring Shaye for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. ‘Garden floral’ was the main theme of the wedding and we wanted extensive flower decorations in our marquee and the venue, but given we had very little knowledge of types of flowers and didn’t want to be busy decorating on the day, we wanted someone who we could rely on could style the venue on the day and create bouquets with little guidance from me. Shaye was the perfect fit for this - her style is incredible, she knew the venue and its owners well (Ataahua Garden in Tauranga), knew exactly how everything there worked, managed to distill my vague comments and ideas into a clear theme and created beautiful perfect bouquets that were my exact vision. Shaye also went above and beyond to source peonies in January from a supplier at the other end of the country, which was a really special touch. 

As it turned out, booking Shaye was a lifesaver as it rained heavily on the day and we had to do some changes to the location for the ceremony / reception drinks on the morning of the wedding.  However, Shaye was an absolute star and was completely unfazed with the short notice and change of plan and styled a new alter and a new reception area (which was not in the original plan) with amazing florals to create a beautiful atmosphere.  This took all the stress away from me as I knew i was in safe hands.

Arriving at the venue and seeing the beautiful flowers everywhere and how well she had prepared the new venues was one of the highlights of my whole day. Looking back, it was incredibly great value for money for the flowers, Shaye’s time beforehand, and valuable time on the day setting up. She is hihgly professional and great to work with and I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Right from initial contact via email to on our wedding day Shaye was a delight to work with. She was actually all booked up for our special day but she managed to fit us in around her busy schedule. I collected the bouquets the night before which I was more than happy to do. Shaye listened to my ideas and created two beautiful bouquets that were exactly what I was dreaming of. I highly recommend On My Hand Props, Styling, Flora - you will not be disappointed!
