Directory Celebrants in Auckland Region
You’ve got a pretty unique style and outlook on life, and you want to incorporate this into your wedding ceremony. Perhaps you’ve talked to a few New Zealand wedding celebrants already, but they’re less than receptive to your wacky ideas. Maybe you would love your celebrant to dress as Morticia Addams, or maybe you’d like to swear your love by the Gods of Heavy Metal, or maybe you want someone who’d be comfortable performing a ceremony in a Victorian corset while standing on a moving steam train.
I am a registered wedding celebrant specialising in alternative ceremonies - think gothic, steampunk, metal, rock’n’roll, eco/hippy, retro, indie, pagan/medieval and anything a little out-of-the-box.
The wedding ceremony is YOUR moment – when the two of you publicly declare your love for each other and your intention to stay together forever … or at least until the zombie apocalypse, and then it’s every goth for him/herself.
AS YOUR CELEBRANT, I WILL:
- Walk you through the legal necessities of a New Zealand wedding ceremony.
- Help you write your own personal wedding vows.
- Give you ideas and inspiration for planning all elements of your alternative wedding ceremony.
- Acquiesce to any of your crazy, wacky and out-there ceremony ideas - including dressing in costume.
Steff was the most amazing celebrant ever. She went above and beyond what we were hoping for. We had a medieval wedding which was very outside of the square for my family. Steff managed to help us design our ceremony so that it was fun but meaningful to us and still performed in a way that respected our families’ views and traditions. Steff was totally open minded and enthusiastic about all our ideas and had lots of practical advice about how to achieve what we wanted. (Her book was an amazing help too). I would recommend Steff to anyone getting married and especially so to anyone wanting a less traditional wedding. Steff will take your ideas and dreams for your day without judgement and help you to make them all come together in the best possible way.

Steff was so supportive with all of the different rituals we wanted in our ceremony and even dressed up as a wizard for us because of our medieval theme!
She was extremely professional with all of the legal requirements and kept on top of when we needed to get the necessary documentation.
She even went the extra mile in providing us with research she had completed on our handfasting ritual and edited our ceremony outline so that it flowed beautifully.
She was calm and centered during the rehearsal, while being firm with the people that weren’t taking it so seriously and gave us the confidence that everything would be alright on the day.
We couldn’t imagine anyone being so perfect as Steff to marry us and would totally recommend her to anyone wanting a celebrant who has all the skills and the wonderful personality to go with them!

Steff was absolutely fantastic. Our wedding was perfect and our ceremony was a complete reflection of our personalities.
Our Heavy Metal ceremony on stage, was exactly what we wanted, Steff gave us room to put our own touches on everything and was the only person I would ever imagined to have performed the ceremony.
Steff completely understood what we wanted and that we wanted a relaxed informal ceremony with some high fives and a few laughs and helped us to make it exactly that!
I would recommend Steff as a celebrant to anyone who wants their ceremony to be totally unique, whether it be following a theme, or wanting something simple to reflect the both of you….Steff is awesome!

We were thrilled to have Steff perform our wedding for us. She accommodated the rituals and songs that we had decided were important for us and was more than happy to involve our family in a way that made us happy. She helped us organise the way the whole ceremony would work. I would recommend Steff to anyone with an idea for wedding that will truly reflect your selves and stand out from the rest!
